What is a cable modem?
A cable modem is a small device that connects your computer to the Internet.
One end is connected to your computer with either a Universal Serial Bus (USB) or Ethernet
cable, and the other to the cable lines outside your home.

Cable modems allow you to browse the internet much faster than a standard dial-up
connection. Downloading large files takes minutes rather than hours compared to
regular dial-up connections. Cable modems also provide you with 24/7 access to the Internet.

How does a cable modem connect to a computer?
The cable modem communicates with your computer through a data interface port.
Your computer must be equipped with one of two data interface ports, either Universal Serial Bus (USB)

No, a fax requires an analog fax modem to operate. However, the right software installed

need of an analog phone line and fax modem.
